I am a Toronto-based writer, author and photographer who is inspired and fascinated by science and nature. I am particularly interested in evolution, natural selection, Darwin, the Galapagos Islands, astronomy, pseudoscience, religion, scepticism, and secular humanism, along with broader topics related to science culture.
I am author of many fiction and non-fiction books for young readers (Sterling Publishing and Penguin Young Readers, N.Y.), as well as articles for children’s magazines. For many years, I wrote and produced astronomy programs for the McLaughlin Planetarium of the Royal Ontario Museum.
I travel to places where I can photograph science and nature—such as the Galapagos Islands, the Atacama Desert in northern Chile, and Cape Canaveral, Florida.
